Evon Ronell Robertson (Washington) was born in Seaford, DE, on May 26, 1959, better known to family and friends as “Sister”. Sister passed away on March 18, 2018 after a short battle with an illness.
Sister spent most of her life residing Seaford Delaware, although the family would move shortly after she was born to Wilmington, Delaware. In her younger years, she would babysit the kids in her neighborhood. She got a job working private duty and assisting others. Her love for children and helping others would lead to her future career as caregiver at Easter Seals. She worked at Easter Seals for over 20 years before retiring. Sister loved working with the elderly and taking care of people with disabilities.
A single mother of 6 children, Sister found time to have a career, take care of and provide for her family, and still have some “Me Time.” For anyone that knows her, knows that she was a die-hard football fan. Her favorite team was the Philadelphia Eagles and she never missed a game no matter how late the game aired.
Sister was preceded in death by her parents Lee Jr & Patricia Washington, Lee II, siblings Gregory Washington and Delores Collins, and daughter Jay-Lynn Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories six children Quentin Washington, LaTisha (Richard), Sharita, Douglas, September, 3 grandchildren Destiney Moore, Sincere Washington, and Alana Alvarez Mosley, 2 sisters Beverly Washington and Shelia (Ali) Washington Kahn, 1 brother James (Marlo) Collins, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and 2 very special friends Diane Patrick and Dorothy Hammel who will miss her dearly.
