Condolence: My condolences to the Joyner and French families on the loss of their mother and grandmother. I was sorry to hear of the passing of Sister Irene Bryant who I adopted as my "godmother" when I attended Bethel AME Church in Hampton, VA. I shared many wonderful times with Sis. Bryant from sitting with her at church, going to her lovely home for a meal after church, taking her to night church services when she longer liked driving at night and visiting her on many occasions in the Senior residence in Hampton as well as going to church with her in Wilmington when she relocated. I regret not staying in touch as much after I moved to Washington, DC, California and Boston. But I do remember how Sis. Irene came to Washington DC when I celebrated my 50th birthday and I how was able to attend her 80th birthday party in Wilmington. I am forever grateful for having shared these wonderful occasions with her over the years. Sis. Bryant was a dedicated Christian servant who was not ashamed of praising the God she loved. Sis. Bryant was very proud of her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She often talked about her family so I came to know about of each of them. She was an exemplary Christian role model to all the young women in our church and I could not have picked a more loving person for my "godmother." I will forever cherish my special memories of this beautiful and caring soul. Rest in perpetual peace Sister Irene. I will miss you dearly, Kerima
