James Roland Watson was born on October 19, 1944, in Kenton, Delaware to the late Allee, Sr. and Isabella Watson.
Jimmie, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, attended school in the Kenton area until he moved with his parents to New Castle, DE, where he attended DeLaWarr High School. He received his GED at the New Castle Learning Center and eventually attended the University of Delaware.
Jimmie enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed working on cars and was an excellent mechanic. There were so many things he enjoyed in life, but nothing could replace the love he had for his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
He was married on April 24, 1982, to Edith (Cookie) and the two enjoyed 35 fantastic years together. During the early years of their marriage, both Jimmie and Cookie attended Bible school and eventually became licensed ministers and co-pastors of Agape Life Family Worship Center, located in Claymont, Delaware. Jimmie was absolutely sold out to Jesus and wanted to do everything he could to advance the Kingdom of God. He was in the process of returning to bible college at the Oral Roberts University.
Jimmy truly had a heart for people. He made friends wherever he went, and those he met enjoyed being around him.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his sister, Bessie Brokenbrough.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife Edith (Cookie); sisters, Iris (Richard) Turner, Evelyn Dixon, Darlene Stevenson, and Della Harris; his brothers, Allee Watson, Jr and Samuel (Linda) Watson; daughter Marian; sister-in-law, April Foote and a host of loving relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed.
