Celebration of life for Faith Ann Newman, aka “Wink” and “Good Ole Faye” as they would call her. She received her early education in the Wilmington school district. She went and spread her wings on 7/6/2017 at 8:39 pm and entered this life on 5/27/1959.
Faith was greeted in heaven by her mother Vera Mae Newman, Father Donald DeWitt Newman. Her Parental grandparents, Dorothy Mae Harris, William Earl Harris, and Grandmother Sara Newman. Faith can’t mention all her beloved ones in heaven, but she really needs to let you know she was greeted by her two cousin who recently passed: Lonnie Dixon and Yvette Evans. She is survived by Life-Partner Arthur Rose, daughters Dalia Newman Jones and husband Ray, Bianca Blackson Newman, and fiancé Caleb, Sons Bartnell Newman and wife Sheba, Anthony Rasheen Newman, and Angelo Blackson; Brothers: Donald, Arnold, Thomas Newman, and Tyrone McIntire; Sisters: Diane Knotts, Toni Newman, and Pamela Ringold. Also, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Faith worked in the banking industry and as a C.N.A, where her love for helping and nurturing other people grew. She was a caring, loving, and enthusiastic person with a witty personality.
Her kind heart lead her to be a donor for which someone today along with their family are happy recipients of a liver transplant. Faith continues to live on in someone which is what she always wanted. Faith did a lot of research studies to be like her legend which was: Henrietta Lacks, whose blood is used today for millions of cures in today’s world. Faith is her own Henrietta she was something special.
Faith loved church, she would always say “God knew I needed song to give service”. Her wanting to sing is what brought her closet to God’s word, and that she was most grateful. Her voice graced Mt. Joy for many years before she moved to Philadelphia and when she returned home this was always her place of worship, she loved everything and everyone at Mt. Joy; whenever they had an event she always got her family involved. She was also involved in the choir at Mt. Pleasant A&E Methodist in Philadelphia where she resided. We all knew how much she loved karaoke and always over sang her sister, Toni. Her Aunt Joyce held a special place in Faith’s heart, and to this day, “I will cherish her forever!”
Our Mother, Grandmother (Great), Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Niece, and friend was many things to a lot of people, some good, some bad, but people would always show her love because she was a great person with imperfections and flaws. When you got to know her you gained a friend for a lifetime. “We Love You, Faith, Wink, Faye, ‘Good Ole Faye’, and Goodnight!”
