Obituary for Jean Williams

Jean Williams passed away peacefully in her sleep and will be laid to rest near her twin sister, Joan at Silverbrook Cemetery.

Jean worked at Woolworth on Market Street in Wilmington for almost 30 years without missing a single day; snow, or rain. She caught the bus and was at her sandwich counter cooking hamburgers, pasta, etc.; for her loyal following, fan Luis of Regular Folk, Wilmington Policeman, and Lawyers. She worked closely with her co-workers and boss, Elinor to expeditiously get the lunch crowd back to work. Many times Jean paid for food for the hungry. It was her nature to do so.

Jean is pre-deceased by her mother, Hattie; father, John Williams; her lovely only daughter, Janice; her beloved twin sister, Joan Hammond; only brother, Alfred, oldest sister, Loraine.

She is survived by granddaughter, Michelle; great-great granddaughters, Etienne and Sinkeea; great-great~great grandchildren, Yaafeer, Janear, Samya, Anyah and Mahajj; nieces, Ding, Joanne, Tony, Tracy and their children; her beloved sister-in-law, Carol Asbury Williams, many cousins, grand nephews and nieces.
