Obituary for Eva Mae Coleman

Eva Mae Coleman
Eva Mae Coleman “Ms. Eva” went home peacefully to the Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. She was born in the small town of Whiteville, North Carolina on September 7, 1926 to Eula and Jessie Coleman. She lived her formative years in Whiteville, North Carolina where she attended school and worked on her parents farm. She came to Delaware in 1958 at the age of 32 and began the life we know now.

She worked as a housekeeper in her early years before obtaining a position with the State of Delaware at the Terry Children’s Psychiatric Center; where she worked faithfully until retiring in 1991.

She enjoyed many things, such as antique shopping, traveling, going to Delaware Park, and spending time with friends. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandson, Maurice, who was her pride and joy. She was a straight shooter who was loved by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Eula Coleman; three siblings, Earl, Lloyd, and Bryant Coleman.

Eva Leaves to cherish her memories three children, Willie Coleman (Cynthia), Gene Coleman, and A. Maurice Parson; two grandchildren Maurice L. Parson and Kristopher Williams; devoted former daughter-in-law, Kristin Parson; longtime friend and neighbor of 40 years, Nancy Hartman and a host of extended family and friends.
Mom we love you! God Bless!
