Obituary for Anna Marie Evans

Anna Marie Tribbett Evans, 91, peacefully departed this life on April 8, 2019 at her home in Smyrna, Delaware. Anna was born on March 25, 1928 in Smyrna, DE to Helen Tribbett and Roland Spencer.

Anna grew up in Smyrna where she attended Smyrna's Elementary School for Colored Children and Thomas D. Clayton elementary school. Afterwards, she attended high school in Dover, Delaware.

Anna Tribbett married Cummins Evans Jr., also of Smyrna in 1949, they were happily married for 56 years until Cummins' death in 2005.

Anna was preceded in death by her mother Helen Tribbett Wayman and father Roland Spencer, her brothers Charles Tribbett (Nip) and Wayne Tribbett. She is survived by her sister Mary Evans (Memphis), Eunice Fountain (Sedrick), Naomi Wayman, Janet Bratten, all of Smyrna, DE, and brothers Luther Wayman (Loretta) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Earl Wayman (Paula) of Dover DE. Brother- in-laws, Henry Evans (Rosa), George Evans (Frances). Sister-in-laws, Ethel Watson, Nettye Evans and Mary Monroe. Her six children; Reuben Evans (Grace) of Crisfield, MD, Janice Whaley (Wayne) of Gilbert, AZ, Cummins M. Evans lll of Conyers, GA, Almedia Pendleton (Silas) of Alpharetta, GA, Don Evans (Gina) of Smyrna, DE and Vetra Evans of Smyrna, DE.10 Grandchildren. Nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special cousin Barbara Jean Simmons. Special friend of many years Grace Ghee. Her special boys Damon and Carl Bibbins, Ricky Sullivan, Lawrence (Globe) Marvel and Andy Slavin. Her personal chauffeurs Yvette Sullivan and Phyllis Marvel.

Anna was always full of life, happiness, joy and love. She loved to cook especially crab cakes. She loved to pick at people, everybody, especially Pastor White. She loved to shop, just about anywhere for anything especially things for her home. She loved Dover Downs, all of it. She even went to a couple of NASCAR events. She loved having company especially these last few years.

Mom has mentioned her Centennial family many times with joy in her heart. We the family are grateful to each one of you. Also, we would like to express our gratitude to her many caregivers and visitors. May God you all!
